Acquisition of M.V. Malakand

Pakistan National Shipping Corporation on 27th December 2010 acquired its second Panamax Bulk Carrier named "MALAKAND" for its subsidiary company, M/s. Malakand Shipping (Private) Limited.

The M.V. MALAKAND is 76,830 metric tonnes deadweight; Panamax Bulk Carrier built in 2004 by Sasebo Heavy Industries Co Ltd Japan. The vessel has been purchased from a company named Nafmar Maritime Limited of Marshal Island, a subsidiary of Target Marine SA, Greece.

The acquisition of M.V. Malakand is in line with PNSC's commitment to modernization, development and strengthening of the National Flag Carrier of Pakistan.

Acquisition of M.V. Malakand is part of the 5 years development plan to modernize PNSC's fleet through induction of modern ships to serve Pakistan's trade and also of the world at large.
